Trust, July 8, Music Hall of Williamsburg
I’m not entirely sure how to classify this band: electro-goth pop? Moody room-filling electronic dance music? I’d loosely put them in the same mental bucket as Future Islands, Austra, Walter Meego, John Maus, etc anyway.
Great performance — sounded completely epic on MHOW’s sound system. No stage banter, just an hour of intense energy. Reminded me of Crystal Castles with a role reversal… and a lot more actual talent.
The vocalist certainly has an interesting voice, basically midway between a wail and a howl. I could have sworn their album had occasional female vocals too, but nope, it’s all the same guy?!?
