If you re-watch old episodes of Garfield and Friends, you may be surprised at how the voice of Garfield sounds slightly similar to Bill Murray, who infamously voiced the lasagna-loving feline in the terrible 2004 live-action film.
But it wasn’t Bill Murray playing Garfield in the ’80s cartoon; rather, it was a voice actor named Lorenzo Music. Ironically, Music was also already starring in the Ghostbusters animated series as the voice of Peter Venkman — Bill Murray’s character in the original film.
Music was eventually replaced on The Real Ghostbusters after only two seasons… when Murray complained that Music’s version of Venkman sounded too much like Garfield.
